“We were given: Two hands to hold. To legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.”

My mom is SO talented. Every time she makes something I can not even find the words to describe how beautiful it is. This was a Birthday Gift for my little girl and I can not wait to have her wear this for a photo session. This was just a quick “try it on” session! lol

I love photographing seniors. There, I’ve said it! :) They are fun, fashionable and up for ANYTHING!!! Jessica was not an exception! I’ve never had so many pretty pictures done within an hour we’ve spent together. As the morning of her photoshoot cowled in, I looked outside the window and it was pouring rain, gray skies and no chance of a sunshine. She was driving to Cincy with her mom from Columbus, and so rescheduling was simply not an option. We decided to try inside of Westin Hotel Downtown and as I was riving there, I could not believe, but the sun was shining out, we got that dramatic light and NO rain! :) It was MAGICAL! We also discovered one really cool location, where I will return for other senior shots- as it is SUPER fun! :)

These are just some of my favorites.

More then often I stop everything I do and look at my little girl just to realize HOW FAST she is growing and that each day she looks a tiny bit different. So often I wish for a Magic Wand so I could stop the time for a few days, when she was newborn, or rewind it to some funniest moments with her and “re-watch” it over and over again….It is so common in our culture to run, consume ourselves with work, friends, obligations, I mean, how many times do we spend hours away on facebook? How many of you are blocking at least two hours a day to watch your favorite shows? I know I am the one guilty of it just as well. Seems like we spend our life searching for happiness and contentment in something else, somewhere else but  NOW, in and with what’s in front of us. Today I want to ask you to block some time off from your day and spend it with loved one: family member, a child, niece, grandma…Life is way to short and the precious moments we often overlook are gone before we even realize it.

When we spontaneously decided to photograph my friend’s Love Story during long 4th of July weekend, I had no idea what I signed up for!!!! These two are SO much fun and were running around making silly faces and playing with each other like a bunch of kids!

No matter what location we choose for the photoshoot, I rarely run into any kind of problems…That is until I took Elena to the Newport on the Levee that night. We were both taking our time, walking around the place, me with my 70-200 mm lens and Elena with her basket full of clothes and accessories. Two of us, minding our own business, absolutely not attracting any attention right?…. Well, I add there were some kind of event going on, a concert of some kind… So when out of nowhere appeared a man in the uniform and asked us who are we and what are we doing here- I was totally speechless and unprepared… I tried to sound authoritative as I gave him my card and said: ” Hi, I am a professional photographer and we are just working on the portfolio building photoshoot for this young beautiful lady over here”…. well, the guy did not even wanted to see my card… ” Lady, did you arrange this with management? I have no idea of no photoshoot going on here today and this is private property and you are trespassing… ” Oh well, so much for a fun Urban Look and a pretty view of Cincinnati… Thanks to my past client BUlent as he arranged a little talk with one of the managers on duty and we were allowed to “wrap up” our photo shoot in 20 minutes.. Seriously? …. :)) People who know me- KNOW I do not do photoshoot in 20 minutes, unless it is my daughter Gabriella… So, long story short we were moved on the side of the building where photoshoot continued… We still attracted attention.. :) The bunch of cyclist in bright yellow suits were screaming : ” OH, looking beautiful” and whistling approvingly as Elena stroked another pose for me… It ended up being a fun session, regardless of the circumstances and that is what usually happens anyway. I make it work. Location, weather..it all matters to some point, when I am facing a dilemma- I got to make it work, there is no tomorrow, later, rescheduling, life is too short- I got to make it work NOW! :)

“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard; we’re gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me… everyday.” - Notebook

Every love story has a beginning… It was what seems forever ago….Cool December breeze from Pacific ocean was dancing around us as we sat outside on a porch of a beach house. Winters in Outer Banks is what I miss the most about it. Empty streets, how quiet it gets at 6 pm and how early darkness covers everything around. It had to be after six, as I remember how dark it was when two girls, me and Krystina, were sharing misfortunes of a love life with each other. Another heart broke, another tear shed. We were talking the night away, learning as much as we could about each other and suddenly out of nowhere I told her: you know what? I know a perfect guy for you. As a matter of fact- YOU know him too! :) We looked at each other and after a second of silence laughed nervously. It could not be THAT easy! “No, it can’t be HIM, he is always quiet and keeps it to himself”,- Krystina said aloud what we both were thinking. Of course how much easier it is to like a Bad Guy, the wild one, who is talking, flirting left and right and how much harder it is to notice someone who is quietly just living a life as a good person?!! I start convincing her by telling her all the reasons why HE is the one. After few more hours of a girl talk it has been decided that Krystina has to make an appearance at our New Year’s Party next evening and really meet Vitaliy. She knew him before but never really took the time to see him. I knew Vitaliy since school. Well, long story short, I just knew how good of a guy he is inside and that it takes a special girl to break down his shyness and make him talk. :)

What I kept dearly in my heart is a memory of two people walking on the beach next evening till the sunrise: Krystina and Vitaliy. And so their love story begun. Few months later I received a phone call from Krystina, she was asking my help to pick a wedding dress and also asking to be her Maid Of Honor- of course I agreed with excitement and disbelief.  I remember driving through Virginia Beach, getting lost on our way back home and just  thinking how crazy was the entire idea that THAT night, on our porch led to this beautiful start of a new life they are about to enter.

Fast forward to June. I am nervous. It has been at least 4 years since I’ve seen them both. I am driving through streets of unknown me town and can’t help but wonder if I should have called more often, should kept in touch better, so I knew these people better. We used to spend almost every day side by side, doing things, experiencing our new life in a foreign country, but it has been way before I became mother and my life took completely opposite turn from theirs. Are we going to like each other the same way? Are we going to have something to talk about?

Needless to say- we had TONS of topics for our conversations. They made me feel so welcome at their house! One evening I offered to take their pictures and then I knew, I saw it - they are still the same, that couple, holding hands on a beach and walking along the sideline of the ocean till the sunrise…
